Analogue Interworking

AUSTEST is an ACMA recognised Testing Authority for testing to the following standards:

AS/ACIF S002 (Analogue Interworking and non-interference requirements for Customer Equipment connected to the PSTN).

AS/ACIF S003 (Customer Access Equipment for connection to a Telecommunications Network). This standard covers Customer Equipment such as Gateways, PABX, VoIP Adaptors with FXS Interfaces.

AS/ACIF S004 (Voice Frequency Performance requirements for Customer Equipment, PSTN and VoIP)

AS/ACIF S006 (Requirements for Customer Equipment connected to Leased lines Non-Switched Network)

These standards cover equipment such as modems, fax machines, telephones (standard & cordless), alarm systems with dialers, private line modems, and other types of equipment that connect to analogue lines. The standards deal with parameters such as tone and carrier levels, voice quality, return loss, DC characteristics and general interworking of the equipment with the telephone network. We also perform testing to the following country specific standards:

We suggest submitting the item for a preliminary evaluation to appropriate standards, including the above interworking standards. Should your product fail to comply with any of the above specifications, we offer an engineering and modification service, from general consulting to full PCB redesign. We have many years of experience in modifying products for compliance.

ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network)

Austest can perform testing to TBR3 & 4 and AS/ACIF S031 and S038. Our ISDN test equipment is available for hire, including an optioned Siemens K1403 (BRI So Interface) and PRA1 (Primary Rate Interface).

If CPE holds ETSI ISDN TTE approval given under the Council of the European Communities Directive 91/263/EEC of 29 April 1991 and is labelled with the permission to connect marking mentioned in Annex VI of the directive, the item is acceptable under schedule 7 of the ACA's labeling instrument for ACMA approval, provided additional requirements listed in AS/ACIF S031 (BRI) and AS/ACIF S038 (PRI) are met. These additional items cover CLI, MCT & emergency access.

XDSL Metallic Local Loop

Austest Laboratories is an ACMA recognised testing authority for testing to the following XDSL standards which cover products like ADSL and SHDSL Modems, Splitters and Filters:

AS/ACIF S041 - Requirements for DSL Customer Equipment for connection to the PSTN (ADSL modems and splitters)

AS/ACIF S043.1 - Requirements of Customer Equipment for connection to a metallic local loop interface of a Telecommunications Network.

AS/ACIF S043.2 - Broadband (xDSL) equipment; This standard includes requirements for following type of xDSL equipment: ISDN, ADSL, SDSL, HDSL, SHDSL.

AS/ACIF S043.3 - (DC signaling, Low frequency AC, voice band or signaling up 20 kHz). Telecommunications Labeling Notice 2001 requires compliance TS043 reports for above class equipment.

Austest Laboratories is an ACMA recognised testing authority for testing to the Private Network standard AS/ACIF S003 - Covering Customer Equipment such as Gateways, PABX, VoIP Adaptors with FXS Interfaces.
